From 🧊 cold to 🔥 hot.
The lake was too cranky for me yesterday, so I headed out this morning with ideas stored up from Wednesday and Thursday. The North East wind we had yesterday decimated the fish I’ve been on for while now. After watching a few too many fish pass by unscathed on my live sonar I realized the water temp had gone down by 12 degrees since Thursday. My bite was gone! We were fishing ice water compared to what we’ve been on…
I vacated the area in search of warmer water that had happier fish in it. We pointed north into a sloppy lake and motored until we found water that was closer to the right temp and started to deploy my wormegeddon spread .
We never really “finished” deploying rods because we just couldn’t keep them in the water. It was absolutely bananas. Rods were firing left and right, netting doubles, losing some, what a blast! We worked as a team to fill the boat in the sloppy conditions. My guys did an amazing job out there.
Thank goodness we made that move!
Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there. If you need me I’ll be in a recliner, well at least for a little bit… Back at it tomorrow 💪🏻💪🏻

If youre a lake erie guy/gal I would bet that you had a mentor, someone that showed you exactly what our lake has to offer and/ore someone that inspired you to take your life on the water. If youve fished with me any number of times, Im sure weve talked about the fella that really got me hooked on this big blue thing. This is that guy 😉
Today we had a calm lake and an exceeding rare opportunity of a free morning to spend together. That was exactly what the Dr. ordered. Yes we threw blade baits and Berkley finishers at shallow fish. Yep, we may have been seen a few walleye eat on live scope while we caught too many gobies and sheephead and, yes we caught our fill of walleye. The important part, we spent a quality morning together doing the thing that this guy taught me how to love.
